Duo Blockstix – Works for Percussion and Recorder

Duo Blockstix is a unique and vibrant Australian ensemble featuring recorder player Alicia Crossley and percussionist Joshua Hill.

For its debut recording the duo engaged a range of Australian composers to create virtuosic works that were influenced by the ensemble’s distinct instrumentation, resulting in an eclectic collection of pieces ranging from dramatic ritualistic compositions to poetry inspired wordscores.

Daniel Rojas (b. 1974) is a Chilean-born Australian pianist and composer specialising in the rich and vibrant Latin American musical aesthetic.

Paul Cutlan

Paul Cutlan's work as a multi-instrumentalist and composer is informed by many styles, including contemporary classical music, world music and jazz. His work as a composer is an increasingly significant extension of his main work as a performer and improviser.
