Matthew Dennett
Matthew Dennett is a Canberra based jazz pianist, accordionist, improviser, composer, and educator.
Matt was born in 1991. He has performed with several large orchestral and small bands such as: Il Divo with Marina Prior (Christine in Phantom of The Opera) & John Foreman (Channel 10, Australian Idol) at the ICC, Sydney in 2018, Monsieur Camembert 2018 (triple ARIA award winning Sydney band), and original jazz ensembles which have served as vehicles for Matt’s compositions.
Originally from the Blue Mountains, Matt completed his Bachelor of Music at Western Sydney University in 2021 with distinction, specialising in performance and composition. Matt now lives in Canberra where he studies a Masters of Secondary Education at the University of Canberra and performs weekly with some of the capitals finest jazz musicians.
