Greg Lyon
Greg Lyon is an Australian bass player active in jazz and jazz-fusion, heard on large studio sessions for ambitious Australian jazz projects of the late 1970s and after.
On the restored Move editions of John Sangster’s Tolkien cycle he supplies the bass across the later volumes, including The Lord of the Rings, Vol. 3 (MD 3253) and the more reflective companion pieces on Landscapes of Middle Earth (MD 3254).
His electric bass also underpins Sangster’s playful Edward Lear settings on the double album Uttered Nonsense (The Owl and the Pussycat) (MD 3321), among a large ensemble of Australian jazz players.
