Deborah Goodall
Deborah has been a member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s First Violin section since 1988.
Born in Adelaide Deborah studied the violin with Merier Roberts and Beryl Kimber. In 1985 she graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) having already performed as a soloist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in the finals of the ABC Instrumental and Vocal Competition. She toured with the Australian Youth Orchestra and Jeunesses Musicales World Youth Orchestra. In 1996 she won the Elton John Award and did further study in London and Toronto.

A series of catchy short pieces composed for clarinet and string quartet, and piano by Julian Yu. Often playful, these pieces are based on oddly familiar classical themes. Chinese folksongs, Dvorak and Mozart are also featured. The track titles will give you some idea of what to expect.
