Danielle Matthews
Danielle Matthews is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and the inaugural winner of the prestigious Rob Guest Endowment Award.
She has worked in shows and concerts throughout Australia and across the world including – An Evening with Stephen Sondheim, Respect the Musical (Australia Tour), Big Band Beat (Tokyo Disney), Another opening Another show (Manilla St Productions), Ship of Fools (Gary Young), TRIBE (Anthony Crowley) Twisted Broadway, Light the Night, Hats Off, Musical Melodies, Carols by Candlelight, Morning Melodies, Sing for a Cure and The Helpmann awards, just to name a few. Danielle has performed live on Good Morning Australia, Mornings with Kerri Anne, It Takes Two and recently performed the Australian National Anthem at the MCG for the opening of one day cricket test series (Australia vs Srilanka)
Danielle has spent the past three years performing with acclaimed opera singer and TV personality Dr Jonathan Welch AM (Choir of Hard Knocks) and has just returned with him from Uganda where she coached, performed with and mentored the African Children’s Choir and children from the poorest slums.
Danielle is the Victorian Ambassador for the Miracle Babies Foundation of Australia and recorded their theme song ‘My Miracle’ Dream Song is Danielle’s debut classical album and she is thrilled and overjoyed to share it with you all. She would like to make special thanks to her wonderful friend and accompanist Adam Przewlocki who makes everything sound magical. Special thanks also to her wonderfully talented guest artists Jonathon Welch, Jedda Wignall, Christian Meyer, and boy sopranos Jesse Buckley Dann and Declan Francis Boyd.
Dream Song is inspired by and dedicated to the music and the people in my life growing up. Each track has a personal connection to that music in which I fell in love with and the people who I have loved, lost and those that continue to influence me in life and music.
