Adelaide Chamber Orchestra
The Adelaide Chamber Orchestra is an Adelaide ensemble recorded here in live Australian orchestral repertoire. The discs include works it commissioned for its own programmes, among them music for small orchestra and for organ and strings.
The orchestra marked a tenth anniversary by commissioning The Dream for small orchestra, later issued from a live recording on David Joseph Selected Works, Vol. 1 (MD 3301). The same disc preserves another of its commissions, a symphony for organ and strings written for the new organ at Adelaide Town Hall and recorded there.
A later live performance of that anniversary score, given at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, appears on Dreams: Works for Small Orchestra (MD 3479).
It also plays the title work on Milerum’s Basket (MD 3261), music for oboe and chamber orchestra.
